Named for Queen Mother Imakhu's (LaRenn Maman Elaine's) late maternal Great-Grandmother EmmaLisa, artisan and designer who created beautiful clothing and art from the materials she had. Queen Mother's own mother passed the sock doll tradition to her as a child. Queen Mother Imakhu presents her own version of handmade cultural sock dolls. EmmaLissa's Dolls honor the family bloodline of African, Latin-Caribe, and Black Southern culture. The dolls do not show distinctive facial features.
